The summer program starts on June 8, 2022.
Applications close May 1, 2022. Late applications may be accepted until start of the program, however a late application fee applies.
To apply to the summer program, one must complete the following steps:
- Fill in personal and educational details on the application form.
- Upload a statement of purpose.
- Upload proof of English language proficiency (unless native speaker or Bachelor studies completed in English in an English-speaking country).
- Upload Higher secondary School (grade 11 and 12) transcript or University transcript with official English translations where applicable.
- Pay the application fee.
Remember to click the Save button after you complete each field. Once you have completed the requirements, declare that your application is complete. You can save your incomplete application at any point and come back to complete it later.
Summer applicants are expected to have completed high school (through grade 12).
Applicants must have a good command of English, sufficient for university-level study. For non-native English speakers, please submit some proof of English language proficiency, such as an international standard English test (IELTS, TOEFL, iBT, CEFR, etc.), a letter from an employer or professor, or a letter describing your experience with the English language, particularly with respect to understanding spoken lectures.
The Buddhist Studies summer course requires that students write papers of good academic quality: students applying to this program should indicate their ability to write academic papers in English.
Advanced Colloquial Tibetan: Applicants should be able to partially understand a Lopon or Khenpo teaching a Buddhist text in Tibetan.
Students applying for intermediate and advanced language courses must provide proof of having successfully studied the previous level in the subject. E.g. students applying for Intermediate Tibetan must show proof of having studied beginning Tibetan.
